Privacy Policy — AI Commerce Agent

Overview

Adobe Commerce Agent ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that provides an AI-powered chat assistant for Adobe Commerce administrators. This policy explains what data the Extension collects, how it is used, and how it is protected.

Data Collected and How It Is Used

1. Configuration & API Keys

The Extension stores the following in Chrome's local storage on your device:

• Your Adobe Commerce instance URL and admin integration token (or IMS credentials)
• API keys for your chosen AI provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or a custom provider)
• Your selected AI provider and model preferences
• Language preference

This data never leaves your device except to authenticate directly with your own Commerce instance and your chosen AI provider. It is not transmitted to any server controlled by this Extension.

2. Chat History

Conversation history is stored locally in Chrome storage on your device so sessions persist across browser restarts. Chat history is never transmitted to any external server other than your chosen AI provider as part of generating responses.

3. Admin Navigation Routes

When you visit your Adobe Commerce admin panel, the Extension scrapes the navigation menu links to build a map of your tenant's admin URL paths. This data is stored locally and is used solely to help the AI navigate to the correct admin page after performing actions.

4. Page Context

The Extension reads the URL of your active Commerce admin tab to detect which entity (order, product, rule) you are currently viewing. This information is sent to your AI provider as part of the conversation context. No other page content is read.

5. Commerce API Data

When you make requests (e.g. look up an order, search products, create a coupon), the Extension calls your Commerce REST API and passes the results to your AI provider to generate a response. This data flows directly between your browser, your Commerce instance, and your AI provider — it does not pass through any intermediary server operated by this Extension.

Data Sharing

The Extension shares data only with:

• Your Adobe Commerce instance — to execute actions you request (read orders, create rules, etc.)

• Your chosen AI provider — to process your messages and generate responses. Your use of that provider is governed by their own privacy policy:

  • Anthropic: https://www.anthropic.com/privacy
  • OpenAI: https://openai.com/privacy
  • Google: https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • Other providers: refer to the provider's own policy

No data is shared with the Extension developer or any third party.

Data Storage & Security

• All settings and chat history are stored locally using Chrome's storage.local API, which is sandboxed to your browser profile.
• API keys are stored in Chrome local storage and are never transmitted except directly to the respective AI provider endpoint you configure.
• The Extension does not operate any backend server, database, or analytics service.

Data Retention

Data is retained locally until you clear it:

• Settings & API keys — persisted until you uninstall the Extension or manually clear settings.
• Chat history — can be deleted per-session from within the Extension UI, or cleared entirely by uninstalling.

Permissions

The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions, each used solely as described:

Children's Privacy

This Extension is intended solely for Adobe Commerce administrators and is not directed at anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes materially, the Extension version will be updated in the Chrome Web Store and the "Last updated" date above will reflect the change.
